Inspired Minoz Philippines Fanclub Dedicate Birthday Forest to Nature Lover Lee Min Ho

18 June 2022, Laguna Quezon Land Grant, Siniloan, Laguna. Minoz Philippines Fanclub  contacted FEED in May to inquire about options available to participate in their Climate Change Action advocacy through FEED’s Students and Volunteers for the Environment (SAVE) Program, in contribution to the “Living Legacy: Plant a Tree, FEED our Future” initiative – in collaboration with the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) that manages the over 9,000 hectare Laguna Quezon Land Grant in Siniloan, Laguna.

Five indigenous Philippine tree species were planted by each of the 16 fans on 18 June 2022, for a total of an 80 trees forest commemorating the birthday of Lee Min Ho, a known nature lover and environmentalist. They also donated a partial scholarship contribution to buttress their support for our community-based agroforestry approach with UPLB!

“As Minoz, we were inspired by our beloved Lee Min Ho for being a nature lover and environmentalist. We, Minoz Philippines Fanclub, take this opportunity to celebrate his birthday with the aim to raise awareness to the people around the world the importance of planting trees and saving our Mother Earth to the effects of climate change.

The whole group from different parts of the Philippines came to collaborate with FEED to make our tree planting a success.

Event hough some of us just met on the event itself, we had this camaraderie and willingness to help. We enjoyed every moment from trekking, digging, and planting the seeds with care.

Just like planting our admiration and love to Minho and make it grow and stronger.

On behalf of our fanclub we want to say thank you because without you we can’t do this project. We will all return after a years to visit & check our plants. And we also hope to plant with you. Thank you very much & God Bless!” – Minoz Philippines Fanclub

And from FEED, we say: Thank you and May the Forest Be With You Always, Minoz Philippines Fanclub!

In 2015, the Philippine government submitted to the United Nations the country’s commitments to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The country committed to reduce its carbon emissions by 70 percent by 2030. The carbon dioxide reductions will come from the sectors of energy, transport, waste, forestry and industry.  Join us!  Help us reverse the Earth’s “hothouse climate” tipping point.
