Plants don’t depend on us but our lives depends on them. To save our lives and future generations first we have to learn how to take care of the environment and to teach our kids the importance of trees and their corresponding ecosystems services.
“I have always been passionate about caring for the environment. It started with my interest to slowly change my habits. I didn’t want to preach it to the world because I didn’t want my words and actions to seem “holier-than-thou.” However, it has always been a dream of mine to put up a package-free essentials store in my hometown, but because of my medical training, that dream will have to wait. Luckily, the lockdown gave me an opportunity to distribute sustainable business essentials in my province and other areas. It isn’t much, but I see it as a stepping stone to help me reach what I want to achieve. It may not be bringing a lot of profit at the moment, but we focus on educating our audience, which I think is the first step to influencing them to make changes in their lives.
For my birthday this year, I want to create an impact by having trees planted. If may not be much, but if I can spend my money on things I need and want, then I can definitely use these resources by spending it on causes that are greater than myself. I would like to thank FEED Inc. for all that you do and for providing these opportunities.” -Fatima Caliwag

In 2015, the Philippine government submitted to the United Nations the country’s commitments to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The country committed to reduce its carbon emissions by 70 percent by 2030. The carbon dioxide reductions will come from the sectors of energy, transport, waste, forestry and industry.
