28 November 2015, Balintawak. 30 volunteer staff from Vendo Corporation, one of the Philippines’ leading operators and manufacturers of sanitation and hygienic mechanical vending machine dispensers for over 18 years, spent this early Saturday morning planting 600 Bougainvillea seedlings along the Manila North Tollways Corporation’s (MNTC) Northern Luzon Expressway (NLEX).
The tree-planting effort was carried out in partnership with the MNTC and NLEX (MVP Group of Companies), a staunch partner of FEED under the “Living Legacy: Plant a Tree, FEED Our Future” reforestation and greening program.
MNTC/NLEX supplied the manpower for site preparation, while FEED organized the session and sourced the seedlings on behalf of Vendo, led by President James Alba and team.
As part of all parties’ Corporate Social Responsibility commitments, Vendo*, MNTC/NLEX and FEED annually and actively contribute to “greening corridors” – or planting and reforestation efforts aimed at restoring the Philippines’ lost forest and green cover.
*Vendo’s mission is to provide every Filipino with the opportunity at having access to sanitary and hygienic items promoting a clean and green lifestyle. Vendo’s vision is to broaden its “machine base to other parts of the nation in order to benefit small and local communities with little or no access to proper sanitation giving every Filipino an equal opportunity to have proper hygiene and sanitation”.
MNTC/NLEX invited all volunteers toa brunch at its NLEX office in Baltintawak, which gave all parties the chance to share their respective CSR efforts by Maricar Pangilinan, CSR Specialist, MVP Group Companies; Jacob Bakker, Chairman of FEED; and James Alba, President of Vendo Corp. Vendo Corporation was also given a FEED Certificate of Appreciation for contributing to the Living Legacy program in collaboration with the MVP Group.
