30 November 2016, UP Town Centre, Dilliman, Quezon City. On November 30th, at the UP Town Centre, UP JMA showed the public at large a whole new way of living as it presented its eco-friendly movement dedicated to initiate and promote a more sustainable and environment friendly lifestyle: “EcoSwitch”. Attended by Diane Penales, VP of Operations and Anne-Marie Mananquil Bakker, Director of Partnerships, FEED was joined by its Sustainable T-Shirt merchandise partner Mondo Project, represented by Bogs Balangat. Together with Mondo Project’s t-shirts containing messages about the Earth and Sustainability, FEED showcased native Philippine fruit trees (buko/coconut, sili/chilli, lanka, rambutan, kasoy and umbrella/coastal species).
“We really appreciate the opportunity to contribute with you helping our planet!
My experience in the EcoSwitch event was really fruitful, as I heard a lot of stories which were really inspiring, and also having to know that there is an increase in the the development of youth leaders being more aware and able to help and contribute in this way. It is really great to know that UP JMA has these programs.
We hope to be able to join as much as we can about FEED’s mission, and we hope Mondo Project would be able to contribute little by little to this movement.” -Bogs Balangat, Co-Founder, Mondo Project

This movement aims to raise awareness on environmental degradation, and encourage a nature-sustaining lifestyle, through the showcasing of local eco-friendly brands in a fashion show. It was a whole day bazaar, and throughout the day, raffles were featured for exclusive prizes and giveaways, workshops on sustainable living and practices, live performances from local artists and a fashion show to end the evening.
Through EcoSwitch, UP JMA invited FEED as its partner beneficiary organization, and further culminated the event in a tree planting on December 3rd with the members of UP JMA, as well as their scholars from the UP JMA Kids Integrated Development Through Schooling (KIDS) Program, which aims to help restore Philippine forests. Catering primarily to students & families, the event attracted traffic of at around 500 visitors of all ages, and a wide range of products.
Thank you UP JMA for your outstanding support to FEED and the environment – keep it up, and more power to your purpose!

About Mondo Project
Mondo Project was established by Rejina and Bogs Balangat to produce sustainable t-shirts carrying environmental messages with impact, triggering FEED to accept the company’s offer to become a merchandise partner to help spread the word on environmental awareness and the need to take action at any level we can, from tree planting to reforest 70% of lost forest cover in the Philippines to water conservation in our own homes, and reconnecting with nature.
