30 June 2018, Siniloan, Laguna, Sierra Madre Mountain Range. On 30 June 2018, 40 ASPAC International employees celebrated the company’s 40 years of providing quality logistics services to the global market by planting 240 Philippine forest trees to the Sierra Madre Mountain Range – leaving a “rich legacy for the future” (ASPAC 40th tagline).
The planting team comprised a mix of staff from subsidiary companies of ASPAC International, including ASPAC Worldwide Logistics, Inc. (AWLI), SuperHawk and Alkhemy.
We thank you ASPAC International for celebrating this incredible milestone with FEED together with our longest and first LIVING LEGACY partner, the University of the Philippines Los Banos (UPLB) at the Laguna Quezon Land Grant (LQLG) in Siniloan, Laguna – bordering the province of Quezon.
The LQLG is a 9,000+ hectare protected forest in the Sierra Madre mountain range – Luzon’s main buttress against the annual incoming Eastern habitat winds and storms, as well as a watershed harvesting rainwaters during the wet / monsoon season, and releasing water gradually downstream towards urbanised areas during the dry/ summer season. Without this mountain range, low-lying lands including Metro Manila and surrounding municipalities would be further inundated during the wet/rainy season; and experiencing more severe dry spells during the summer seasons.
ASPAC Letter of Thanks to FEED
Dear FEED Partners –
During our General Staff Meeting this morning, we presented our summary report and video on the tree planting activity that we accomplished last Saturday. Our President, Anicia P. Paeldon, and our VP for Organizational Development, Dylan E. Halili, were pleased with the presentation and the event’s success. That commendation goes to you as well, being our beloved environmental partners. Thank you very much for all your support and contribution in making the event successful and fun. *high five*
