3 December 2016, Siniloan, Laguna. 37 staff from Jetti Foundation and International planted 400 indigenous Philippine hardwoods at the Laguna Quezon Land Grant in Siniloan, Laguna on 3 December 2016 as part of their ongoing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts to give back to the community and the environment in the Philippines:
- Malaruhat/Mulawin – heavy Philippine wood;
- Bagtikan/”white lauan” – light red Philippine Mahogany;
- Banilad – Sterculia commas, fibres used for rope;
- Bolong-eta, endangered hardwood;
- Babaysakan – Philippine oak;
- Dangula – hard, heavy, and durable wood; and
- Narra – hardwood and honey source).
Dominique Lopez of Jetti Foundation & International delivered the inspirational message to Jetti planters prior to the trek to the site, mentioning the significance of the company and its Corporate Social Responsibilities – “giving back to the community and environment through outreach programs and sponsorships to different institutions, including public schools, homes for the aged, and orphanages to name a few, as well as donations to affected areas and families during times of calamities”.
Thank you to all Jetti participants for helping us restore part of the 70% lost forest cover in the Philippines!

The UPLB & FEED team was led by Forester Rey Lorida, managing the Laguna Quezon Land Grant (LQLG) in – and from Siniloan, Laguna himself – who delivered the presentation about the 9,000 hectares of master planned reforestation efforts in LQLG; and 7 professional foresters and in-house security officers, who also helped guide the participants in the proper planting and care for the seedlings. FEED’s Director of Partnerships, Anne-Marie Mananquil Bakker, accompanied the group throughout the program, from the welcome message to the final trek back to base camp for brunch and certificate awarding.
