FEED Selected as Ambassador of Nestea #PlungeToPledge #PledgeForLaUnion Beach Clean-up Challenge

9 March 2017, San Juan, La Union.  Following FEED’s acceptance as the independent NGO representative on behalf of La Union for entering the “Nestea – Refresh the Beach” challenge – an advocacy program which aims to maintain the beauty of our beaches – FEED representatives Diane Penales (VP Ops), Nomer Cuartero (Students & Volunteers for the Environment (SAVE Leader) and Anne-Marie Mananquil Bakker (Director, Partnerships) participated in a beach clean up with advocate for #cleanseas La Union Surf Club, Inc. (LUSC) and the local community.

About 26 concerned residents and active beach clean up volunteers participated to show their commitment to championing environmental care and protection of La Union’s shoreline, where the livelihoods of fishing to farming, eco-tourism and surfing  are dependent on the eco-system from Ridge to Reef being intact.

La Union’s other Ambassadors are: Jas Curtis Smith, Tommy Esguerra, Charo Soriano and Bela Padilla who submitted their plunges on Instagram too.

FEED on behalf of the Nestea “PLUNGE TO PLEDGE” campaign 2017 invites everyone to take a video of themselves doing the NESTEA Plunge #PlungeToPledge #PledgeForLaUnion.

A NESTEA Plunge is a move wherein the consumer seemingly free falls on his back with outstretched arms on a pool of water (or any safe surface such as bed, ball pit, etc).  Boracay, Puerto Galera, and La Union were the official locales.  The beach with the most number of pledges will win a beach clean-up package worth Php1 million from Nestea.

The PLUNGE TO PLEDGE campaign is designed not just to help save the beach but to increase environmental awareness among consumers of NESTEA. “We know that this is an objective that we share with your organization. We are excited to inform you that YOUR ADVOCACY GROUP has been chosen to be the recipient of the beach cleaning machine in the event that LA UNION receives the most number of pledges. We know that your organization will make good use of this resource.” -Nestea Philippines
