2015 “Musical Tribute to Education & Environment” Set on 25 Nov 2015

Featuring the Manila Symphony Orchestra & Southeastern College Children’s Choir

SEC Choir 1-117 November 2015, Makati.  Fostering Education & Environment for Development, Inc. (FEED) partners with the Manila Symphony Orchestra and Southeastern College for a “Musical Tribute to Education & the Environment: Ophie & Friends Sing Green”, on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at the Ayala Museum Makati, from 6-9PM.

The benefit concert will honor leading individuals and organizations who played and continue to play an active, leading role in advocating “Education for All” & environmental conservation initiatives in the Philippines, aiming to increase awareness and support through an inspiring selection of music about the environment, nature and youth leadership. Keynotes will be delivered by the MVP Group of Companies and Senator Loren Legarda, both active and leading proponents of education & the environment in the Philippines.

The Ayala Museum graciously offered their venue in kind. Other FEED Patrons & Partners will be featured alongside Fides Cuyugan-Asensio, one of the most outstanding sopranos and musical personalities of the Philippines, singing “Nature Boy” and “Summertime”; mezzo-soprano and environmental activist Ophie Bakker-Mananquil, FEED President, singing “Trees”, “The Prayer” and “Wind Beneath My Wings”; Tenors Lorenzo, Josh Tiu, Henry-Jacques Bakker, and Jacob Bakker performing “Exodus”, “Anthem”, “You Raise Me Up” and “Tulips from Amsterdam”. Highlighting the significance of education, Southeastern College Children’s Choir will deliver its own arranged, customized renditions of “We are the World” and “Paraiso“ (Smokey Mountain).

“As Patrons, we encouraged FEED to share their mission with a wider public audience, to showcase theirs and their partners’ accomplishments through this Musical Tribute.” – Lyn Gamboa & Linda Mañalac, who both initiated this Tribute.  FEED President Ophie Mananquil Bakker said in thanks: “Everyone is performing from the heart , communicating our consolidated appeal for the continued endorsement of much needed educational & environmental progress in the Philippines – through their voices, musicality and dedication to these causes.”

Full proceeds of this 2015 Musical Tribute will be allocated directly to the continued tree-planting programs, scholarships for underprivileged youth, scientific research, and livelihood and social forestry projects in agriculture, environment, farming and forestry – in collaboration with FEED Partners & Patrons, a.o.
