CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY (CSR) OFFICER

Background

Many organisations are eager to make sure that their business practices, processes and products/services  are ethical, environmentally friendly and sustainable – demonstrating their “Corporate Social Responsibility” (CSR).

CSR is partly philanthropic, but a holistic CSR strategy can also enhance an organization’s reputation and thus maximise its value. If CSR initiatives are publicised effectively, they can also enhance a company’s image and reputation in many ways.

Description of Role

The CSR Officer is responsible for designing, facilitating, organising and implementing FEED’s CSR programs aligned with a respective CSR Patron/Sponsor.  The CSR Officer conducts research, proposes ideas, creates CSR planting programs and plans, and builds relationships with partner organisations, in order to implement and coordinate activities with CSR Patrons/Sponsors, which are designed to have a positive impact on the environment and local communities we work with.

The CSR Officer’s role also involves marketing and publicity, mainly through FEED’s social media platforms (website, FB, Twitter, and IG), helping to raise awareness of a company’s/group’s/organzation’s commitment to CSR and generating publicity around its altruistic pursuits.

Working Ethic & Hours

Typically, a part time internship for working/full time or part-time students any 5 days in a week including weekends, nine-to-five; or as agreed between the student and FEED, depending on the focal areas the Intern choses (see ).

Doing a good job results in increased opportunities for the future especially when being evaluated directly against other students or employees. FEED Interns will get a first-hand look at what’s entailed in actually working for an environmental organization, with direct access to all partners, beneficiaries, donors, patrons and funders.

Company dress code is trekking or sea-based attire as we are always on the move, from Ridge to Reef.  Time management is important as you will have to manage your own schedule. You can carry out your tasks remotely if the subject matter you are concerned with allows, or you can travel with us to our nursery and planting sites, as agreed with FEED.

You will meet many like minded individuals all of who share a passion for the conservation, protection and enhancement of our environment.

We are action oriented but with a scientific and pragmatic base.

Entry Requirements

Open to College/University students pursing an undergraduate / graduate degree or other Diploma/Course in any discipline. Subjects such as agriculture, agro-forestry, economics, environment, ecology, marketing & PR, and social media, may boost your chances of securing this internship.

CONTACT FEED

In 2015, the Philippine government submitted to the United Nations the country’s commitments to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The country committed to reduce its carbon emissions by 70 percent by 2030. The carbon dioxide reductions will come from the sectors of energy, transport, waste, forestry and industry.

FEED runs a number of Students and Volunteers for the Environment (SAVE); Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) – such as mangrove planting for coastal protection or ridge reforestation plantings; One Child, One Tree; Bio-Intensive Gardens (BIG) for nutrition in public elementary schools and other spaces; Climate Change Survival 101 and other LIVING LEGACY programs – customised environmental engagement activities for individuals and organisations interested in contributing to climate change adaptation efforts and greening critical areas such as watersheds, ridges, and reefs that all require rehabilitation.
